Green SM launches in Surabaya, driving cleaner and smarter mobility

Indonesia’s “City of Heroes” welcomes Green SM, the nation’s first premium all-electric taxi service, bringing quieter, safer, and more affordable rides to Surabaya. To celebrate its debut, Green SM is offering up to IDR 50,000 off per ride, inviting residents to experience eco-friendly travel that contributes to cleaner air across the city.

SURABAYA — Indonesia’s “City of Heroes” welcomes Green SM, the nation’s first premium all-electric taxi service, offering quieter, safer, and more affordable rides. To mark its debut, Green SM is giving up to IDR 50,000 off per ride, inviting residents to experience eco-friendly travel that supports cleaner air for Surabaya.

With over 3.8 million vehicles registered in 2024, Surabaya faces growing congestion and pollution. Green SM’s electric fleet operated by professional drivers and bookable via its app offers a comfortable, sustainable alternative aligned with Surabaya’s Smart City vision and Indonesia’s carbon-reduction goals.

After debuting in Jakarta in December 2024, Green SM expanded to Makassar and Bekasi earlier this month. Its arrival in Surabaya marks the company’s move toward nationwide green mobility.
