HẢI PHÒNG — Wink Hotels officially opened its sixth property on Thursday in the northern port city of Hải Phòng, marking the brand’s first foray into northern Việt Nam and a bold step forward in redefining 'affordable luxury' in the local hospitality market.

Located at 135 Điện Biên Phủ in the heart of the city, Wink Hotel Hải Phòng offers 225 rooms and 77 serviced apartments tailoured to modern travellers and long-term residents alike. The new property continues Wink’s signature approach: tech-forward, design-led and sustainability-focused.

“Wink Hotel Hải Phòng represents our ambition to deliver smart, stylish and accessible hospitality in one of Việt Nam’s most dynamic cities,” said Michael Piro, CEO of Wink Hotels and Co-CEO of Indochina Capital.

“By reimagining the guest experience through technology and sustainable design, we’re empowering travellers with flexibility and control while remaining committed to reducing our environmental impact.”

The property’s standout features include floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping city views, mobile check-in via the Wink app, and automated kiosks to maximise guest freedom. Through the STAY24 programme, guests enjoy a full 24-hour stay regardless of check-in time - a concept that challenges traditional hotel norms.

Peter Ryder, Executive Chairman of Indochina Capital and Director of Indochina Kajima, underscored Hải Phòng’s strategic appeal: “This is Việt Nam’s third-largest city, a key industrial and maritime gateway. With major infrastructure projects underway — from upgrades to Cát Bi International Airport to port expansions — Hải Phòng is on track to become a regional investment magnet. Wink Hotel Hải Phòng and our Core5 Hai Phong industrial developments are part of that larger vision.”

In the first four months of 2025, Hải Phòng welcomed more than 2.55 million visitors, up nearly 12 per cent year-on-year. Accommodation service revenue climbed by 16.5 per cent, while industrial production saw the highest growth rate since 2022, exceeding 15 per cent.

“Those figures confirm Hải Phòng’s growing role in both global tourism and the supply chain,” said Keisuke Koshijima, Executive Vice President of Kajima Corporation.

As with all Wink properties, sustainability is a core principle. Wink Hotel Hải Phòng is built to LEED v4 standards and avoids single-use plastics, uses smart LED systems and furniture made from recycled materials, and partners with Vietnamese brands for organic personal care products.

“Hải Phòng isn’t just growing — it’s transforming,” added Piro.

“Wink is here to help guests explore what makes the city unique and to set new benchmarks for hospitality in the region.” — VNS
