VinEnergo Energy JSC has entered into a memorandum of understanding to install rooftop solar power systems combined with battery energy storage systems (BESS) at the VinFast, VinES, and VG manufacturing facilities located in the Vũng Áng Economic Zone of Hà Tĩnh.
HÀ TĨNH — VinEnergo Energy JSC has signed a memorandum of understanding to deploy rooftop solar power systems integrated with battery energy storage systems (BESS) at the VinFast, VinES, and VG factories in Hà Tĩnh's Vũng Áng Economic Zone.
The project includes a total capacity of 43MWp of solar power and 45MWh of battery storage, generating around 50 million kWh annually and reducing over 33,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year.
This marks Việt Nam's first large-scale deployment of a solar-BESS cluster and the first direct power purchase agreement (DPPA) model combining solar and BESS in the country. The systems will utilise BESS solutions developed by VinFast, meeting international safety and quality standards.
VinEnergo's Deputy General Director, Nguyễn Hương Giang, emphasised the project’s role in advancing green production and supporting Vietnam’s Net Zero 2040 goals. The initiative sets a precedent for nationwide clean energy solutions and positions Vũng Áng Economic Zone as a future green industrial park. — VNS
