PHÚ THỌ — A joint venture between Vĩnh Phúc International Services and Industrial Zone Joint Stock Company (VISIZ) and SHINEC Joint Stock Company on Thursday broke ground on the Phúc Yên Industrial Park (IP) infrastructure project, following approval by the provincial People’s Committee.

The project is located in Phúc Yên Ward in Phú Thọ Province, covering 111.33 hectares with a total investment of more than VNĐ1.988 trillion and a 50-year operating licence.

The event marks the launch of a major industrial infrastructure project and is seen as a new highlight in the province’s industrial development strategy, as Phú Thọ positions itself as a growth pole linking Hà Nội with the northern midland and mountainous regions.

Amid global supply chain shifts, the industrial park is expected to help attract high-quality investment, particularly in high-tech industries, electronics, precision engineering, supporting industries and logistics.

Phúc Yên IP is being developed in line with international standards and is designed not only as a production site but also as a modern industrial ecosystem associated with digital transformation, green growth and the circular economy.

One of the project’s key advantages is its strategic location. It connects directly to the Nội Bài – Lào Cai Expressway via the IC2 interchange and is around 10 minutes from Nội Bài International Airport. It is also linked to major transport routes, including National Highway 2A, Ring Road 4 and the Lào Cai – Hải Phòng railway.

The location is expected to help businesses reduce logistics costs, shorten transport times and improve supply chain efficiency.

The industrial park will feature synchronised infrastructure, including internal roads, high-capacity power supply, water supply and drainage systems, and a centralised wastewater treatment plant meeting environmental standards. Green spaces and supporting facilities are also being developed to ensure favourable conditions for investors.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trần Duy Đông emphasised the strategic significance of the project.

“Phúc Yên Industrial Park is a project of strategic importance within the province’s industrial development planning,” he said.

“It is not only an industrial infrastructure project, but also represents belief, aspiration and a testament to the spirit of innovation, creativity and determination of Phú Thọ Province in its new development phase.”

According to the project schedule, Phase 1 from the first quarter of 2024 to the first quarter of 2026 focuses on legal procedures, site clearance and initial construction. Phase 2, from the second quarter of 2026 to the first quarter of 2027, will complete technical infrastructure, including site levelling, transport systems, utilities and wastewater treatment, before handing over to investors.

Nguyễn Hải Tùng, general director of VISIZ, said the investor consortium is committed to mobilising all resources to ensure the project is implemented on schedule with modern and synchronised standards.

“Phúc Yên IP is more than a production facility. It is a sustainable industrial ecosystem where investors can build and grow their operations with confidence over the long term,” he said.

Once operational, Phúc Yên Industrial Park is expected to attract dozens of domestic and foreign enterprises, create thousands of jobs and contribute to the State budget.

It is also anticipated to promote the development of commercial services, urban areas and industrial real estate in Phúc Yên Ward and surrounding areas, contributing to improving the investment environment and enhancing the competitiveness of Phú Thọ Province. — VNS
