HCM CITY — Pfizer Vietnam and the University Medical Centre HCM City (UMC) on August 14 signed a three-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen medical capabilities and improve healthcare quality in southern Viet Nam and across the region.
The agreement aims to build a strong foundation in diagnosis, prevention, and treatment through specialised training programmes, and to expand engagement with expert networks to address the practical needs of hospitals in southern provinces.
Under the MoU, the partnership will focus on four key areas: organising specialised training in antibiotics, antifungals, vaccines, cardiovascular diseases and cancer; enhancing infectious disease prevention and treatment capacity; sharing medical knowledge; and raising public awareness of common preventable infectious diseases and chronic conditions such as cardiovascular diseases and cancer.
Lê Khắc Bảo, vice director of UMC, said this collaboration with Pfizer Vietnam marks a significant step forward in enhancing Viet Nam's capability to deliver quality healthcare services.
“With programmes rooted in practical experience and aligned with emerging trends and challenges in the medical field, we believe this partnership will not only equip our teams with a solid foundation of knowledge, but also foster research and innovation, driving positive and sustainable value.”
Darrell Oh, general director of Pfizer Vietnam, said this MoU reaffirms the company’s commitment to supporting Việt Nam’s healthcare system through positive innovation.
“Through specialised knowledge exchange sessions, we believe that healthcare professionals will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to master advancements in medical science.”
