ĐÀ NẴNG — Mikazuki Hotel Group, the largest investment project from Japan, has begun construction of the second phase of its investment at the already operating Đà Nẵng Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa, marking a significant milestone in completing a comprehensive resort ecosystem inspired by Japanese culture.

The expansion reinforces Mikazuki’s long-term commitment to elevating Đà Nẵng’s tourism landscape following the successful introduction of the first phase in 2022.

The second phase, designed as a multi-functional complex featuring a 15-storey hotel tower and 14 private villas, will complement the existing 22-storey hotel, together forming the image of a ‘Crescent Moon’ - Mikazuki’s symbolic architectural signature embracing Đà Nẵng Bay.

President of Mikazuki Group, Odaka Yoshimune, said the second investment phase will increase the number of rooms to 447 with an investment of 3 billion Japanese Yen (about US$19.4 million).

“We have been given support from the governments of Việt Nam and Japan, financial organisations, members of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Đà Nẵng and hospitality partners in building our dream in Đà Nẵng,” Odaka Yoshimune said.

“Our hotel has hosted 2.2 million tourists, a remarkable result for a five-star hotel in Đà Nẵng City, since the operation of Đà Nẵng Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa in 2022.”

He stressed that Mikazuki Group will go all out in building Đà Nẵng as the most favourite destination in the world.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Việt Nam, Mikazuki Group constructed the Việt Nam-Japan Friendship Bridge, a pedestrian overpass for tourists and local people.

Vice Chairwoman of the city’s People’s Committee, Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi, emphasized that the operation of the first phase highlighted the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Việt Nam and Japan. She said the hotel has created 600 jobs and contributed to tourism growth.

The head of the Japanese Consulate General in Đà Nẵng, Mori Takero, said the project is the biggest FDI project from Japan in the city and has become an iconic feature of Đà Nẵng’s tourism since opening in 2022.

The second investment phase has been funded by the Japanese Shoko Chukin Bank’s Chiba branch.
