HCM CITY — InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, under the IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) umbrella, is accelerating its growth as Việt Nam’s largest luxury hotel brand, demonstrating its strong and enduring commitment to the dynamic Vietnamese hospitality market by launching new properties across the country.

Vivek Bhalla, managing director of South East Asia & Korea at IHG Hotels & Resorts, emphasised the attractiveness of the Vietnamese market, citing its robust tourism foundation, increasing domestic prosperity, and growing allure for international travelers as key drivers of long-term growth opportunities.

Việt Nam stands out as one of IHG’s top-performing markets in the Asia Pacific region, with a remarkable 20 per cent revenue per available room growth in the second quarter of 2026.

The luxury hospitality sector in Việt Nam witnessed impressive growth at 21.1 per cent, surpassing the national hotel average by US$73 per available room, underscoring the rising demand for premium experiences among travelers.

IHG plans to expand InterContinental's presence in Việt Nam, with new properties expected in Thanh Xuân Valley in Phú Thọ, Saigon Cần Giờ, Sapa and Đà Lạt over the next three to five years. The group is also exploring opportunities in gateway cities and resort destinations including HCM City, Hà Nội, Nha Trang and Hồ Tràm.

“The growth of InterContinental is part of our broader strategy to build a world-class portfolio across every segment of travel in Viet Nam,” Vivek said.

“Alongside the expansion of InterContinental, we see opportunities in expanding our branded residences offering through InterContinental and Regent, accelerating growth in the midscale segment with Holiday Inn Express and Garner, and over time introduce new brands such as Kimpton and Staybridge Suites to the market."

Since its inception in 2007 with InterContinental Hanoi Westlake, InterContinental has nine hotels and resorts with more than 2,500 rooms across Việt Nam. After nearly two decades in the country, the brand is planning four more properties in emerging destinations as it continues to expand its presence in the Vietnamese luxury hotel market. — BIZHUB
