ANTIPOLO CITY — Green Xentro has rolled out the initial phase of a 2,500-unit fleet of fully electric (BEV) taxis in Rizal Province, Philippines in partnership with global mobility platform Green GSM.
The deployment marks one of the largest electric taxi rollouts in the Philippines to date and represents the first large-scale implementation of a partner-led expansion model aimed at accelerating electric mobility adoption in emerging markets.
The project builds on a memorandum of understanding signed in October 2025 between Xentro Group and Green GSM. Originally planned at 2,000 vehicles, the fleet has been expanded to 2,500, reflecting growing operational confidence and long-term commitment from both sides. The Rizal rollout is the first phase, with further expansion expected across Metro Manila and nearby areas.
Under the model, Green Xentro oversees local operations, including driver management and market adaptation, while Green GSM provides an integrated electric mobility platform covering vehicles, technology infrastructure, and standardised service protocols.
The system enables real-time fleet monitoring, centralized safety management, and consistent service standards. Each vehicle is equipped with GPS tracking, CCTV, dashcams, and emergency features such as panic buttons, all linked to a 24/7 monitoring centre. The fleet is also fully insured to ensure safety and reliability. — VNS
