HÀ NỘI — Geely Vietnam has introduced two new energy vehicles - the EX5 EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV and the compact electric EX2 - as it accelerates efforts to expand its green portfolio and tap into Việt Nam’s growing demand for sustainable transport.

The launch, held on March 27, marks one year since the brand entered the Vietnamese market, signalling a new phase in its product and ecosystem expansion strategy.

Geely's EX5 EM-i, positioned in the long-range SUV plug-in hybrid segment, is priced between VNĐ789 million and VNĐ969 million. It features Geely’s E-Motive Intelligent hybrid technology, designed to optimise fuel efficiency while maintaining strong performance.

The model has been recognised by VietKings for setting three national records, including the longest pure electric driving range at 228.3 kilometres and a combined range of up to 1,823.7 kilometres. It also delivers fuel consumption of just 3.02 litres per 100 kilometres.

Inside, the EX5 EM-i offers a spacious cabin with a 2,755mm wheelbase, a 15.4-inch central display and advanced safety features, including Level 2 ADAS. It has earned five-star safety ratings from Euro NCAP and ANCAP.

Meanwhile, the EX2 targets urban users with a compact design, flexible interior and high level of personalisation. The model is equipped with the Flyme Auto operating system, a 14.6-inch display and multiple convenience features, including wireless charging and rear air vents.

Despite its small footprint, the EX2 offers notable interior space, with generous rear legroom and multiple storage compartments. It has recorded strong sales in China, with nearly 500,000 units sold within just over a year.

The dual launch underscores Geely Vietnam’s strategy to develop two core product lines, one for long-distance travel and the other for city mobility, forming a complementary green transport solution.

Alongside new products, the company is expanding its footprint through a growing dealership network, now reaching 55 nationwide. It is also partnering with Tasco Auto and Esky to roll out 55 charging stations in 2026.

With additional incentives such as reduced charging fees and extended maintenance packages, Geely aims to strengthen customer experience while positioning itself for long-term growth in Việt Nam’s fast-evolving electric vehicle market. — VNS
