Canadian International School Lao Cai signs up with UK organisation to create business curriculum

LÀO CAI — The Canadian International School Lao Cai has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ultra Education of the UK for creating a business and entrepreneurship curriculum for students from grades one to 12.

They will be tailored to meet local cultural and educational requirements.

Ultra Education will also provide training to CIS Lao Cai teachers and ongoing online support and collaborate with the school to organise events and activities that foster entrepreneurial spirit among students.

The Business and Entrepreneurship Programme at CIS Lao Cai will span two semesters (30–34 weeks per level) and is set for launch in the second semester of the 2025–26 school year.

Short-term courses (10–12 weeks) will also be offered through the school’s After School Academy to external students and equipping them with fundamental business knowledge and entrepreneurial skills.

CIS Lao Cai and Ultra Education will jointly host a Children’s Business Fair in November in the school campus. The first event of its kind in Việt Nam is meant to be a practical forum for school-aged students to showcase their products and startup ideas to the wider community.

Ultra Education is a social enterprise founded in 2014 specialising in entrepreneurship education. CIS Lao Cai is its first partner in Việt Nam.
