A.P. Moller Capital has invested in ALS Cargo Terminal and formed a strategic partnership through its second fund, Emerging Markets Infrastructure Fund II.

HCM CITY — A.P. Moller Capital, a global infrastructure investor, announced it has invested in ALS Cargo Terminal and formed a strategic partnership with the company through its second fund, Emerging Markets Infrastructure Fund II.
The investment marks a broader platform strategy in Việt Nam’s transport and logistics sector with VinaCapital, one of the country’s largest investment management companies, through its logistics platform LogiVest Ltd.
ALSC is a leading air cargo handling operator at Hà Nội’s Nội Bài International Airport, serving major international airlines such as Korean Air, Emirates and Cathay Pacific.
Its terminal processes around 250,000 tonnes of cargo annually and expansion plans are underway to meet growing demand.
A.P. Moller Capital has a strong track record in transport and infrastructure investments. The transaction is the third in South and Southeast Asia for the A.P. Moller Capital - Emerging Markets Fund II, and the second investment in the air cargo sector and its first entry into Việt Nam’s transport sector after earlier renewable energy investments made through Verdant Energy.
“We are now focused on unlocking ALS Cargo Terminal’s potential through automation, process optimisation, strategic expansion, pricing and contract enhancements and a strong focus on sustainability and ESG initiatives,” said Jens Thomassen, partner at A.P. Moller Capital.
Don Lam, CEO and founding partner of VinaCapital, said: “The improvement in infrastructure and logistics in Việt Nam are critical to continued robust economic growth, and we are pleased that the inaugural investment of our partnership with A.P. Moller Capital is in ALSC, a leader in air freight logistics at Nội Bài.”
Phùng Tiến Toàn, founder of Aviation Logistics Corporation (ASL), said: “This partnership and investment will enable ALS and ALSC to continue to expand and strengthen our position at Nội Bài and play a leading role in Việt Nam’s logistics growth.”
The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to be completed by the end of Q3. — BIZHUB
