Vingroup launches urgent support programme to ease impact of rising fuel prices
Buyers will be offered an extra three per cent discount on electric cars and five per cent discount on VinFast electric motorcycles during the programme period.
HÀ NỘI -- In response to unpredictable fluctuations in global fuel prices, Vingroup has announced the urgent rollout of a special 'Trade-in Your Old Gasoline Vehicle for an Electric Vehicle' programme across four markets: Vietnam, India, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Under the programme, customers who switch from old gasoline-powered vehicles to new electric vehicles from VinFast will receive additional incentives on top of existing promotions. Specifically, buyers will be offered an extra three per cent discount on electric cars and five per cent discount on VinFast electric motorcycles during the programme period. The incentives apply to customers in all four participating markets.
In addition, GSM Smart & Green Mobility a mobility service company within Vingroup’s green ecosystem has also announced a 10 per cent discount on electric ride-hailing fares on the Green SM platform in Vietnam and Indonesia. The promotion will run from March 11 to March 31, 2026, offering customers an environmentally friendly and cost-effective transportation alternative.
According to the company, the programme may be extended depending on developments in the Middle East and future fluctuations in global fuel prices.
Duong Thi Thu Trang, Vice General Director of Global Sales at VinFast, said the special 'Gasoline Trade-in Programme' is the company’s emergency response to geopolitical developments that are negatively affecting the socio-economic situation in many countries.
“As one of the pioneering manufacturers leading the global electric vehicle revolution, VinFast together with other companies in Vingroup’s green ecosystem aims to help mitigate the impact of rising fuel prices on people’s daily lives while reducing environmental pollution through smarter, more sustainable, and more economical transportation solutions,” she said. -- VNS
