HÀ NỘI — Vietravel Airlines took delivery of an Airbus A321 at Nội Bài International Airport as part of its 2026 fleet expansion plan.

The addition is expected to strengthen the carrier’s capacity for the year-end travel peak and the 2027 Tết (Lunar New Year) holiday.

Registered as VN-A292, the aircraft has 228 seats and is scheduled to enter service on October 1 after completing required technical and operational procedures.

The additional aircraft will allow Vietravel Airlines to increase capacity, optimise flight schedules and improve operational flexibility during the peak travel period.

As part of its year-end network expansion, the airline plans to launch services between HCM City and Hải Phòng, and between HCM City and Thanh Hóa, from October 1.

Internationally, it is finalising plans for a regular Hà Nội–Shenzhen route, following the launch of its HCM City–Shenzhen service in August.

The fleet and network expansion is expected to strengthen connections between major economic and tourism centres and help the airline respond to rising travel demand towards the end of the year.

Vietravel Airlines has also started ticket sales for the 2027 Tết holiday, with fares from VNĐ68,000 (US$2.61) per one-way journey, excluding taxes and fees, depending on the route, travel date and applicable conditions.

The airline is offering flexible Tết ticket options, including changes to travel dates or passenger names subject to applicable conditions.

The arrival of VN-A292 marks another step in Vietravel Airlines’ fleet expansion since the carrier joined the T&T Group ecosystem in late 2024.

Vietravel Airlines is also preparing for longer-term growth. The company and Airbus recently reached an agreement covering the purchase of 50 new-generation aircraft, comprising 20 A220s and 30 aircraft from the A321 family. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2029.

The fleet expansion is intended to strengthen the airline’s operating capacity and provide room for further network and connectivity growth in the coming years. — VNS
