HÀ NỘI — As businesses in Việt Nam and around the world harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI), network is the critical backbone that makes it all possible, said Dzung Nguyen Nhu, Country Leader for Cisco Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.

"To meet the needs of tomorrow’s businesses and protect against evolving threats, today’s network must be faster, smarter and more resilient. Businesses must recognise that a modernised network is key to driving future growth and success,” he added.

Cisco has released new global research revealing a major infrastructure shift as AI adoption accelerates. The study highlights how AI-powered tools, growing data workloads and 24/7 digital demands are transforming enterprise networks – pushing them to be faster, more secure and more intelligent.

In Việt Nam, 100 per cent of companies surveyed say modern networks are critical for rolling out AI, cloud and IoT technologies. Nearly all IT leaders plan to boost network investments, seeing smarter infrastructure as essential for future growth.

The study outlines six signals of change. Among them: 99 per cent of IT leaders see AI-ready networks as key to revenue growth, while 66 per cent say current data centres can’t yet support AI workloads. Resilience is also in focus, with cyberattacks and outages costing businesses up to US$160 billion annually.

Although 100 per cent of leaders agree AI-powered networks are crucial, only a third have deployed intelligent features like segmentation and automation.

Globally, 97 per cent of CEOs support AI investments and are relying on IT leaders to drive transformation. However, 74 per cent admit outdated infrastructure is already slowing progress.

As businesses shift toward smarter systems, Cisco says the network will be central not just to operations, but to long-term success. — VNS
