HCM CITY — The annual Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition that opened in HCM City on Wednesday has attracted a large number of domestic and international visitors.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thị Thắng said that with the goal of enhancing the national brand image of Việt Nam’s food industry and supporting Vietnamese enterprises to expand more strongly in both domestic and international markets, the ministry has organised the exhibition as its flagship annual trade promotion event.

“Vietnam Foodexpo has become one of the most prominent trade promotion activities in the food industry — a national forum that brings together hundreds of enterprises and thousands of brands, showcasing key and emerging Vietnamese agricultural and food products alongside global food innovations, modern machinery and advanced processing technologies.”

There are more than 500 booths set up by nearly 400 companies from over 20 provinces and cities across Việt Nam and a similar number of countries and territories, including South Korea, Japan, Russia, Turkey, Finland, India, Thailand, Brazil, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, China, and Cambodia.

The products on display are from a wide range of sectors such as agriculture, raw and processed seafood, processed foods and beverages, including machinery, equipment and technologies for food processing, preservation, packaging, and food safety and hygiene.

This year marks the largest ever participation by Japanese companies -- nearly 40 – and they are in seafood, processed foods and beverages and showcasing products, advanced processing technologies and food safety solutions.

Thắng said the expo’s online visitor registration portal, though opened less than a month ago, received more than 2,000 pre-registrations from buyers from nearly 50 countries and territories.

“These impressive numbers demonstrate the growing trust, interest and attractiveness of the Vietnamese food market to international players in general, and the increasing appeal of Vietnam Foodexpo in particular, on the global food and beverage industry map.”

The highlights of the exhibition include the Vietnam National Food Brand Pavilion, which showcases high-quality products representing the country’s brand.

Notably, for the first time, the Vietnam Foodexpo online exhibition officially launched on the Arobid TradeXpo platform, marking a significant step forward in digitalising Việt Nam’s trade promotion activities. The online exhibition runs concurrently with the physical Vietnam Foodexpo 2025 from November 12–30, promising a multi-dimensional space for Vietnamese businesses to connect with international partners in the food, agricultural, and seafood industries.

The expo also includes an international food forum, a training workshop on enhancing export promotion capacity and effectiveness at trade fairs, a series of programmes on risk management in trade promotion and import–export activities, and business-matching sessions between Vietnamese companies and international buyers and investors.

“The exhibition continues to provide practical opportunities for enterprises and visitors to access products aligned with new market trends and to explore innovations in food preservation and processing technologies,” Thắng said.

“It also offers a dynamic platform for trade promotion, facilitating direct engagement with potential partners for brand promotion and market expansion. This will contribute greatly to the strong and sustainable transformation of Việt Nam’s food industry amid deeper international economic integration — helping the country steadily move towards building a safe, modern and internationally competitive food sector.”
