HÀ NỘI — Regulatory compliance, transparency and traceability rules are becoming increasingly important as Việt Nam’s beauty and personal care market continues to expand, industry experts said at the DKSH Beauty Show 2026 held in Hà Nội last weekend.

The annual event, organised by DKSH subsidiary Chemicals Industry, brought together domestic manufacturers of personal care and cosmetic products and leading global ingredient suppliers to discuss market trends, regulatory developments and innovations in formulations.

The Vietnamese beauty and personal care market is estimated to have reached over US$2.7 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of around 3.3 per cent through 2029.

Personal care products account for the largest share of the market, valued at approximately $1.2 billion, while skincare and cosmetics remain among the fastest-growing segments as consumers pay greater attention to skin health and quality of life.

Globally, demand for clean and sustainable beauty products is also increasing. The global clean beauty market is forecast to grow from $10.5 billion in 2025 to $35.3 billion by 2033, reflecting growing consumer expectations for product safety, ingredient transparency and environmental sustainability.

Việt Nam’s personal care industry is also undergoing significant regulatory changes. New requirements are placing greater emphasis on product dossiers, traceability and accountability throughout the supply chain, encouraging companies to strengthen compliance and product governance.

At the DKSH Beauty Show 2026, experts from the company highlighted the growing importance of regulatory compliance as Việt Nam’s legal framework continues to evolve.

For cosmetics manufacturers, compliance is increasingly required from the early stages of product development and throughout the manufacturing process, including requirements relating to formulation, technical documentation, ingredient quality and origin.

Product notification dossiers, for example, are expected to provide comprehensive information on ingredients rather than focusing only on key active ingredients. This places greater importance on the ability of manufacturers and their suppliers to provide accurate and traceable information across the supply chain.
