HCM CITY — As Việt Nam races to expand the digital backbone of its economy, Siemens Limited Vietnam and Việt Nam-Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company Limited (VSIP) have signed a strategic technology partnership to develop data centre parks nationwide, the companies said on Wednesday.

Under the agreement, the two sides will collaborate on technical solutions and knowledge exchange to support the design of efficient, reliable and sustainable data centres, responding to rising demand from cloud services, digital platforms and data-intensive industries.

“This collaboration reflects our commitment to supporting Việt Nam’s digital transformation and sustainable infrastructure development,” Siemens said.

The partnership establishes a framework under which Siemens will leverage its global expertise and technology portfolio to support VSIP in attracting, developing and serving international-standard data centre investors.

Siemens said the initiative comes at a pivotal moment as Việt Nam’s digital landscape expands rapidly, fuelled by higher internet penetration, growing cloud adoption and the spread of digital services across multiple sectors.

Phạm Thái Lai, president and chief executive officer of Siemens ASEAN and Việt Nam, said: "By integrating our comprehensive suite of advanced data centre solutions-from reliable power infrastructure to intelligent building management systems, we are committed to enabling VSIP and its future investors to construct highly efficient, resilient and sustainable data centres."

"These facilities will not only meet the current demands but also be future-ready to support the evolving digital landscape of Việt Nam, contributing significantly to the nation's economic growth and technological advancement."

Nguyễn Phú Thịnh, general director of VSIP JV, said the partnership builds on a long-standing relationship between the two companies and supports VSIP’s strategy to attract high-tech investment and foster a digital ecosystem in Việt Nam.

He said Siemens’ experience in critical infrastructure and data centre solutions would enable VSIP to offer investors not only land and basic infrastructure but also a more integrated and reliable operating environment for data centres.

Thịnh added that Siemens’ busway factory, which has operated at VSIP Bình Dương since 2006, demonstrates the durability of the partnership. — VNS
