HCM CITY — Siemens Vietnam and AIT Corporation have unveiled SIVACON S8, a next-generation digitalised main switchboard, marking a new phase in their partnership on technology transfer and local manufacturing and underscoring their commitment to strengthening Việt Nam’s energy infrastructure.

Produced locally, SIVACON S8 is engineered for high-end applications across data centres, aviation and ports, LNG power, high-speed rail, the energy sector and various industrial industries. The switchboard demonstrates Siemens and AIT’s focus on sustainable development, offering fully digitalised functionality, enhanced safety and a reliable, energy-efficient power supply.

This is a testament to the rapid, effective implementation capability and strong commitment of both sides, while showcasing the ability of local expertise in applying technology from Germany,” said Dr Phạm Thái Lai, CEO of Siemens ASEAN and Việt Nam at the launch event.

A Siemens Digital Industries expert demonstrated the transformative potential of Siemens Simcenter, digital twin technology and advanced simulation tools. These innovations are crucial for optimising energy efficiency in next-generation data centres, which face increasing demand from AI and cloud computing.

Digital Twin creates virtual replicas for detailed analysis and optimisation, while Simcenter enables precise modelling and thermal simulations. Together, they can deliver up to 38 per cent energy savings, 24 per cent cost reduction and improved Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE). These tools help Vietnamese data centres reduce emissions, enhance operational efficiency and support sustainable digital infrastructure aligned with global sustainability goals.

Following the SIVACON S8 launch, Siemens Vietnam and AIT Corporation hosted a seminar titled Driving Energy Transition and Future of Việt Nam’s Energy Landscape, bringing together government officials, industry leaders and energy sector stakeholders.

The discussions focused on opportunities and challenges in the digital-era energy transition, particularly in light of the recently updated National Power Development Plan VIII (2021-30). Participants explored strategies to ensure national energy security, attract investment in infrastructure and expand clean energy sources, supporting Việt Nam’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The seminar highlighted the collaborative effort required to maintain a stable and sustainable electricity supply, vital for the country’s economic growth and digital transformation.
