HCM CITY — Rixos Phú Quốc Vietnam resort has announced the appointment of Stefano Capaccetti as managing director as the resort enters a key phase of its pre-opening journey. 

As the latest project developed by Sun Group, one of Việt Nam’s leading private economic groups, the resort is set to bring a new architectural landmark and unique experiences to the island’s increasingly developed high-end tourism offerings.

With 15 years of experience at Rixos Hotels and more than 25 years in international hospitality, Capaccetti has held senior leadership and pre-opening roles across Qatar, the UAE, Türkiye and Kazakhstan, most recently leading Rixos Qetaifan North in Doha through its opening ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. 

He will lead Rixos Phú Quốc Vietnam through its pre-opening and launch phases before overseeing the resort’s overall operations.

The appointment comes at an important moment for Phú Quốc, which is rapidly strengthening its position as a global tourism destination. 

The island welcomed more than 1.3 million international visiotrs in the first half of 2026, representing a 50 per cent year-on-year increase, while continued investment in tourism infrastructure, hospitality and entertainment is expanding the island’s appeal to travellers worldwide. The upcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting 2027 is expected to further elevate Phú Quốc’s international profile and visibility.

As the brand’s first property of its kind in Asia, Rixos Phú Quốc Vietnam marks an important step in Rixos’ regional expansion, while bringing its distinctive all-inclusive hospitality experience to a destination with growing global appeal.
