HÀ NỘI — Quảng Trị Province has unveiled three large-scale urban development projects worth more than VNĐ38 trillion (US$1.5 billion), signalling a bold push to transform the province into a new growth hub of the north central region.
The People’s Committee of Quảng Trị Province, in co-ordination with Sun Group, held a ceremony on Thursday to launch the projects.
The first project, the Nhật Lệ mixed-use coastal urban area, spans over 276 hectares with an investment of more than VNĐ12.5 trillion, located in Nam Trạch Commune and Đồng Thuận Ward.
The second project is the Đồng Hới central mixed-use urban area, covering more than 212 hectares with an investment of over VNĐ11.9 trillion, located in Đồng Thuận and Đồng Hới wards.
The area is planned as a model of sustainable eco-urban development, with more than 60 hectares reserved for green spaces including theme parks, flower gardens and water landscapes.
The third project, the Western Lệ Kỳ River mixed-use urban area, will cover more than 291 hectares with a total investment nearing VNĐ13.9 trillion, situated in Đồng Hới Ward and Quảng Ninh Commune.
It will be designed as a modern high-end urban space featuring commercial services, themed parks and cultural and recreational complexes along the riverfront, remaining active day and night.
These three projects are expected to mark a new development phase for the province, reflecting Quảng Trị’s ambition to become a dynamic growth centre in the north central region.
They also mark Sun Group’s first projects in the province, demonstrating its commitment to long-term development.
The initiatives are aimed at unlocking the province’s potential, positioning tourism as a spearhead economic sector and delivering world-class tourism products, entertainment complexes, resorts and large-scale urban areas. They are expected to contribute to sustainable economic growth and elevate Quảng Trị as a nationally and internationally recognised destination.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trần Phong expressed confidence that, together with other strategic projects, Sun Group’s initiatives would make a significant contribution to socio-economic development, helping the province achieve major progress in the years ahead. — VNS
