HCM CITY — Procter & Gamble Vietnam (P&G Vietnam) is collaborating with the Vietnam Red Cross Society and CARE International to launch a support package to help flood-affected communities in Northern and Central Việt Nam stabilise and rebuild their communities.
The support package includes nearly 15,000 essential household and personal care products from P&G’s trusted brands. These products, distributed by the Vietnam Red Cross Society, aim to help families maintain hygiene and health during these difficult times.
In addition, P&G employees have also made personal cash contributions through the company’s labour union, demonstrating their spirit of care and solidarity with the community.
Beyond emergency relief, the company continues to work with CARE International in Việt Nam to implement a long-term recovery programme in Cao Bằng Province, supporting approximately 3,000 ethnic minority people to recover safely and sustainably after the disaster.
The company’s support will be used to provide hygiene kits, winter blankets, and mosquito nets to households, improving access to essential non-food items and ensuring warmth during the coming winter, as well as support vulnerable households with multi-purpose cash transfers, enabling them to meet essential food, health, and livelihood needs.
The support will also be used to rehabilitate three typhoon-damaged schools and replace lost learning materials, helping children return to safe and equipped classrooms.
Earlier this year, in the aftermath of the September–October storm season, the company worked with the Vietnam Red Cross Society under the Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) programme to distribute over 463,000 water sachets, equivalent to more than 4.6 million litres of clean water, across Cao Bằng, Thái Nguyên, Lạng Sơn, and Nghệ An Provinces, helping thousands of families access safe water during the flooding season.
Marwane Tahri, General Director of P&G Vietnam, shared: “We extend our deepest sympathies to all individuals and families severely affected by the recent storms and floods. With these essential household and personal care products, we hope to bring comfort and timely support to people during this difficult period. P&G Vietnam remains committed to standing by communities in need and will continue to drive long-term initiatives through our partnerships to help them recover and rebuild sustainably.”
P&G has been present in Việt Nam since 1995 with the commitment to “Being a Force for Growth and a Force for Good”. — VNS
