HCM CITY — The latest machinery, technologies, feedstock, and solutions for the textile and garment and footwear industries are on display at four annual expos that opened in HCM City on Wednesday.

The Việt Nam International Textile and Garment Industry Exhibition, Việt Nam International Textile & Apparel Accessories Exhibition, Việt Nam International Dyeing & Chemical Industry Exhibition, and Việt Nam International Footwear Machinery & Material Industry  Exhibition have brought together more than 400 exhibitors from 10 countries and territories.

The textile and garment industry remains one of the key drivers of Việt Nam's economic growth, and its exports were worth US$44 billion last year after an 11 per cent year-on-year increase, according to the Việt Nam Textile and Apparel Association.

Việt Nam is the world’s second-largest exporter of footwear.

According to the Việt Nam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association,  footwear and leather exports topped US$27.04 billion last year, marking an 11.45 per cent increase.

They are projected to rise by 10 per cent in 2025, underscoring Việt Nam’s strong position in the global footwear supply chain.

By addressing both global trends and local challenges, the seminars aim to provide participants with valuable insights and useful strategies to elevate the textile, garment and footwear industries towards a greener and more competitive future.

The expos, organised by Vinexad National Trade Fair & Advertising JSC (VINEXAD) and Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co., Ltd., at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre in HCM City, run until Saturday. — VNS
