Located in the Mê Linh district, the project has an estimated preliminary investment of VNĐ100 trillion (US$3.78 billion) and is scheduled for phased development between 2026 and 2032.
HÀ NỘI — The Handico, Sunshine and Thái Nam real estate development consortium has recently submitted a proposal to reduce the area of Hà Nội’s Bắc Thăng Long Urban City project from nearly 700 hectares to 474 hectares, removing Mê Linh Commune entirely from the project.
With the proposal, the project will only span across two communes of Thiên Lộc and Phúc Thịnh, instead of three as in the initial plan.
This proposal was agreed upon by relevant agencies and the Department of Planning and Architecture has submitted it to the Hà Nội People's Committee for consideration.
The project has an estimated preliminary investment of VNĐ100 trillion (US$3.78 billion) and is scheduled for phased development between 2026 and 2032. It aims to build a green, smart, eco-urban complex with housing, public spaces and social facilities.
The city's Department of Agriculture and Environment has also handed over the boundary markers to facilitate land clearance. The project’s developer is coordinating with the local authorities and the Land Development Centre to prepare a compensation cost estimate.
In the coming period, the investor will continue to finalise the investment proposal dossier for consideration by the City Appraisal Council in accordance with regulations. — BIZHUB/VNS
