HÀ NỘI — The Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) has begun offering online ticket sales for the international passenger train service operating from Gia Lâm Station to stations along the Gia Lâm – Nanning (China) route, available through its official website https://dsvn.vn.

In addition to online purchases, passengers can still buy tickets directly at railway ticket counters nationwide.

Vietnamese and Chinese railway authorities are working to expand online ticketing services for MR1 international trains running beyond Nanning, to destinations including Guilin North, Hengyang, Changsha, Zhengzhou and Beijing West. The service operates every Tuesday and Friday.

For the time being, passengers travelling beyond Nanning are required to purchase tickets in person at railway stations across Vietnam.

According to VNR, between May 26 and September 30, the international train service carried around 8,400 passengers, of whom Vietnamese travellers accounted for 20 per cent, Chinese 75 per cent and passengers from other countries 5 per cent. — VNA/
