HÀ NỘI — VinFast has joined forces with 12 leading banks and financial institutions to support Hà Nội residents in switching from petrol to electric vehicles.

The partnership offers attractive financing, including loans covering up to 90 per cent of the vehicle cost, terms of up to eight years and interest rates 3–4 per cent below the market average for the first three years.

Incentives also include a 10 per cent vehicle price subsidy and full coverage of motorbike registration fees.

Participating banks include Vietcombank, Vietinbank, BIDV, MBB, Techcombank, VPBank, HDBank, Sacombank, TPBank, MSB, Lotte Finance and Shinhan Finance, all key players in advancing green finance.

Buyers of VinFast electric cars with Hà Nội plates can access loans up to 80 per cent of the car's value. Those operating through the Green SM Platform receive an additional 4 per cent interest discount and 90 per cent revenue share over three years.

For motorbike buyers, financing is available with no upfront payment. Customers joining the Green SM Platform receive a 10 per cent price subsidy, and all Hà Nội-based buyers benefit from waived registration fees until 24 October.

This initiative supports Việt Nam’s national green goals and reflects growing alignment between businesses, banks and the central Government.

Lê Việt Đức of Vietinbank said: “We prioritise projects with environmental and community benefits. Partnering with VinFast shows our commitment to sustainable development.”

Lê Khắc Hiệp of Vingroup added: “Green transformation is a shared responsibility. This alliance demonstrates the collective will to create a cleaner future.” VNS
