BANGKOK — Vietjet Thailand has launched its first international service operated by the Boeing 737-8, marking a significant milestone as the airline begins deploying Boeing aircraft alongside its long-standing and efficiently operated Airbus fleet.

The move represents a key step in Vietjet Thailand’s strategy to diversify its modern, large-scale fleet while further advancing sustainable development across Vietjet as a multinational aviation group.

The Bangkok–Nha Trang route is operated with seven round-trip flights per week. Directly linking two dynamic tourism hubs in Thailand and Việt Nam, the service is expected to give a fresh lift to tourism, trade and investment between the two countries and across the Asia-Pacific region.

Vietjet currently operates the largest network connecting Việt Nam and Thailand, with six direct routes: HCM City–Bangkok, Hà Nội–Bangkok, Đà Nẵng–Bangkok, Phú Quốc–Bangkok, Nha Trang–Bangkok and HCM City–Phuket.

To celebrate the launch, Vietjet Thailand is offering special promotional fares on the Bangkok–Nha Trang route, with ticket prices starting from just THB199 (about US$6.4, excluding taxes and fees), available for booking until January 31.

The promotion applies to travel from February 16 to November 30, allowing travellers to plan their journeys throughout the year.

Vietjet Thailand received its first Boeing aircraft in November 2025 and initially deployed it on its domestic network in Thailand.

The Boeing 737-8 is recognised for its high operational efficiency, reliability and enhanced passenger comfort. As a new-generation aircraft, it supports cost efficiency, medium-haul network expansion and elevated service quality across Vietjet’s network.

The airline plans to operate a fleet of 50 Boeing 737-8 aircraft, forming a strong foundation for expanding its international network connecting Thailand with Japan, South Korea, China and other key markets across the Asia-Pacific region.

From Việt Nam, Vietjet continues to operate a new-generation Airbus fleet, with more than 500 aircraft on order, ensuring flexibility and optimised fleet deployment tailored to individual markets. — VNS
