HÀ NỘI — GSM and VinBus on Wednesday introduced School Bus, Việt Nam’s first dedicated all-electric student transportation service.

The new service marks a milestone as the only passenger vehicle line that fully meets the technical and safety standards for school transport under the 2024 Road Traffic Safety Law, with smart features and technologies tailored specifically for educational environments.

School Bus is a collaboration among three leading Vietnamese green mobility brands - VinFast, VinBus and GSM. It uses VinFast's e-vehicles, and is operated by VinBus and managed through GSM’s intelligent technology platform Xanh SM. The model aims to set new benchmarks for school transportation, safe, civil, and environmentally friendly.

The service uses the new VinFast EB 6 mini electric bus, featuring 19 seats, a spacious cabin, and smooth, quiet operation with zero emissions. The model is purpose-built for student transport, meeting all safety, technical, and child protection standards under the law.

Each vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive Secure to Safe (S2S) monitoring system, including cameras at doors and inside the cabin, GPS tracking, Face ID attendance, and a mandatory post-trip cabin check to ensure no student is left behind. All trip data are encrypted and securely transmitted to schools and operators for transparent, accurate monitoring.

To safeguard student health, the buses are fitted with air purifiers and air-quality sensors to maintain a clean, comfortable environment. VinBus also prioritises human factors, drivers and attendants receive specialised training in safety, child psychology, and school conduct. Every trip follows a strict five-step safety protocol, ensuring complete peace of mind for both parents and schools.

Nguyễn Công Nhật, deputy CEO of VinBus, said that safety has always been VinBus’s top priority. Every process and technology in School Bus is designed to provide students with the safest and most comfortable experience while giving parents confidence and reassurance. This is not just a transport service, but the foundation for a greener, smarter, and more sustainable school mobility ecosystem.

In its initial phase, School Bus will operate at Vinschool campuses in Hà Nội and HCM City, before expanding to other private and international schools in the 2026–2027 academic year. The service will soon be integrated into the Xanh SM app, allowing parents to easily book rides and track pick-up and drop-off in real time, in line with school privacy policies.

In the long term, GSM and VinBus aim to partner with schools nationwide to standardise the Green School Mobility model, enhancing educational quality, ensuring student safety, reducing emissions, and supporting Việt Nam’s Net Zero 2050 commitment. — BIZHUB
