HÀ NỘI — In a move that raises the roof on green innovation, TONMATPAN, under TONMAT Group, has successfully developed and manufactured Việt Nam’s first Polyisocyanurate (PIR) panels using Hydrofluoroolefin (HFO), marking a major step forward in the country’s construction materials industry.

The panels combine three key advantages: environmental friendliness, production safety and superior thermal insulation. HFO is a next-generation blowing agent with extremely low Global Warming Potential and zero ozone depletion potential. It is also non-flammable, non-toxic and safe for both workers and end-users.

Tests show that TONMATPAN’s HFO PIR panels achieve the lowest thermal conductivity coefficient in Việt Nam to date — outperforming conventional PIR panels. This translates into higher insulation performance, reduced energy loss and lower operating costs.

“Mastering green and safe raw materials like HFO allows us to produce panels with the best insulation index in Việt Nam,” said Deputy Director of TONMATPAN’s International Trade Department Trần Trung Kiên.

“This lays the foundation for us to serve foreign-invested projects and expand into markets such as the EU, Japan and the US.”

The launch comes as demand for sustainable building materials rises in Việt Nam, driven by rapid urbanisation and stricter energy efficiency requirements. Sandwich panels, including PIR panels, can cut electricity consumption by 20–40 per cent and shorten installation time by up to 60 per cent compared with traditional materials, indirectly reducing CO₂ emissions.

According to TONMATPAN, the new product reflects the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainable development.

“This success affirms our research capabilities while contributing to Việt Nam’s green growth goals,” said Head of Production at TONMATPAN Hà Văn Lũng.

The company said it will continue investing in modern technology and expanding its portfolio of environmentally friendly products, with the ambition of bringing 'Made in Việt Nam' green insulation solutions to the global market. — VNS
