TÂY NINH — The Tây Ninh Provincial People’s Committee and Thanh Thanh Cong – Bien Hoa JSC (TTC AgriS) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on comprehensive agricultural cooperation, with a focus on sugarcane, in line with the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on developing science and technology linked to agricultural production.

Under the framework, both sides will roll out projects to establish large-scale farms, enhance production efficiency and improve management across the sugarcane value chain.

A flagship initiative is the Model Farm/Experimental Farm (DemoFarm) project, covering about 1,250 hectares in its first phase with nearly VNĐ200 billion (US$7.7 million) in investment, before gradual expansion and technology transfer to farmers.

At the same time, a digital farm management system will be introduced to enhance efficiency and monitoring, moving towards a centralised and synchronised model for the province’s sugarcane industry, with an estimated investment of about VNĐ80 billion.

Several large-scale projects will boost processing capacity and diversify products. The 48-hectare NIVL sugar factory, with VNĐ5 trillion investment, will produce refined, powdered and liquid sugar for domestic use and export.

An international production and logistics centre spanning 15–20 hectares will require VNĐ3 trillion to complete the province's distribution network for sugarcane and agricultural products.

The TTC AgriS plant will upgrade to crush 5,000 tonnes of cane daily, while a thermal power centre with a 26-MW turbine will provide energy for operations.

The partnership also targets land development and crop restructuring. Plans call for expanding sugarcane cultivation to at least 20,000 hectares through State land leasing and partnerships, with VNĐ900 billion investment. The province will also develop fruit zones linked to export-standard processing facilities.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Minh Lâm said local authorities have directed relevant agencies to ensure projects proceed on schedule and in compliance with regulations, while the company pledged to pool resources and accelerate implementation of the agreed projects. — VNA/VNS
