Through the scholarships programme, Fast Retailing aims to support academic excellence, deepen cross-cultural understanding and help the next generation reach their full potential in a global educational setting.
HÀ NỘI — Fast Retailing Co., Ltd., the parent company of UNIQLO, has officially announced the list of nine outstanding Vietnamese students receiving the 2026 Fast Retailing Foundation Scholarships on July 13.
The programme aims to support academic excellence, deepen cross-cultural understanding and help the next generation reach their full potential in a global educational setting.
The Fast Retailing Foundation Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship programme that enables outstanding students around the world to undertake English-taught undergraduate degree programmes at leading universities in Japan.
Besides financial support, the programme aims to nurture future leaders whose potential and capabilities can drive positive change on a global scale.
Since 2023, the foundation has awarded a total of 36 scholarships to Vietnamese students. This year, nine outstanding students across Việt Nam were selected for the 2026 scholarship, following a comprehensive application review and interview process, with a wide range of academic interests, including science, technology, economics and education.
They include five students from Nguyễn Siêu School, Foreign Language Specialised School, Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted; HUS High School for the Gifted in Hà Nội; two students from Lê Quý Đôn High School for the Gifted and FPT Primary, Secondary and High School in Đà Nẵng; one student from Nguyễn Trãi Specialised Senior High School in Hải Phòng City; and one student from VNU-HCM High School for the Gifted in HCM City.
Representing this year's scholarship recipients, Trịnh Tuấn Minh, a student from Nguyễn Siêu School, expressed his aspiration to contribute to Việt Nam's transition toward a circular economy while supporting the progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
By applying his knowledge, skills, and passion, particularly in maximising the value of waste resources, he hopes to help extend the benefits of sustainable development to underserved communities.
Beyond academic pursuits and personal growth, these scholarship recipients shared a common aspiration to apply the knowledge and experience they gained in Japan to create positive social impact and contribute to global efforts in sustainability and innovation.
Fast Retailing also announced the opening of applications for the 2027 Fast Retailing Foundation Scholarship, offering another opportunity for outstanding Vietnamese students with strong academic achievements, leadership potential and the ambition to pursue higher education.
The fully funded scholarship covers application, admission, and tuition fees throughout the undergraduate programme, along with a one-time settlement allowance of JPY 200,000 (US$1,234) during the first year and a monthly living allowance of JPY 144,000 to 160,000, including housing expenses. The total value of the scholarship is up to JPY 4.5 million ($27,760) per year. — VNS
