The National Competition Commission issued a decision on handling the competition case against SPX Express.

HÀ NỘI — SPX Express Company Limited has been fined VNĐ200 million (US$8,000) for providing misleading information to customers about its products and services.
The National Competition Commission on Wednesday said it had issued a decision on handling the competition case against SPX Express.
During the investigation, the company was reported to be actively co-operated in providing information and documents to the National Competition Commission and took measures to prevent and mitigate the consequences of the violation.
SPX Express is the official shipping unit for Shopee, operating in the logistics sector to deliver goods from sellers to buyers on the Shopee e-commerce platform.
Previously, on September 13, 2023, the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Information and Communications (now Ministry of Science and Technology) issued an inspection conclusion regarding SPX Express's compliance with postal and network information security laws, which pointed out several violations in the postal sector.
SPX Express's revenue reached over VNĐ4.68 trillion ($180 million) in 2022, with a profit of nearly VNĐ64 billion.
In the same year, the volume of parcels shipped through the Shopee platform accounted for 99.9 per cent of the total volume, while orders from off-platform customers accounted for only 0.1 per cent.
These percentages were 99.3 per cent and 0.7 per cent in the first half of 2023, respectively.
SPX Express was administratively sanctioned by the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Information and Communications for violations related to changing the waybills applied to customers using postal services and implementing promotional programmes for postal services at prices lower than previous service prices (promotions in the form of price reductions), violating promotion regulations. — BIZHUB
