Samsung’s manufacturing complexes are launching internal fundraising campaigns through various activities to further support people in the hardest-hit areas.

HÀ NỘI — Responding to the appeal of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front (VFF), Samsung Vietnam on Tuesday donated VNĐ10 billion (US$380,000) to support residents in provinces severely affected by recent storms and floods.
Half will be transferred to the Central Committee of the VFF for distribution to disaster-hit localities and half will be directly presented to the Fatherland Front Committees of Bắc Ninh and Thái Nguyên provinces, with each receiving VNĐ2.5 billion.
While presenting the donation to the Central Relief Committee, Na Ki Hong, president of Samsung Vietnam, expressed his deep concern for affected communities and his hope that the company’s contribution would help residents overcome the aftermath of storms No 10 and No 11.
“On behalf of the leadership and employees of Samsung Vietnam, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the Vietnamese people, as the two recent storms have caused tremendous losses and damage,” he said.
“We hope that Samsung Vietnam’s contribution will, in part, help affected communities recover swiftly and return to normal life.”
Hong also shared that, in addition to the corporate donation, Samsung’s manufacturing complexes are launching internal fundraising campaigns through various activities to further support people in the hardest-hit areas. He emphasised Samsung’s commitment as a responsible enterprise that always stands with Việt Nam and shares its challenges.
Upon receiving the donation, VFF Chairman Đỗ Văn Chiến expressed his sincere gratitude to Samsung Vietnam for consistently accompanying and supporting the Vietnamese people during times of hardship caused by natural disasters and pandemics.
He said that all donations will be allocated promptly, transparently and effectively to help local communities rebuild and recover.
Chiến noted that in recent days, the Party and the State have allocated thousands of billions of đồng to support storm- and flood-affected provinces and cities.
With the approval of the Politburo and the Secretariat, led by General Secretary Tô Lâm, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the VFF has launched a nationwide fundraising campaign to assist victims of the disasters.
The collected funds will be used to rebuild housing and restore livelihoods, with strict supervision to ensure aid reaches the right beneficiaries.
He also expressed his hope that Samsung Vietnam will continue to grow strongly and further enhance its capacity to contribute to social welfare - both for its employees and for Vietnamese people facing difficult circumstances. — BIZHUB
