HÀ NỘI — Global semiconductor company Qualcomm and Swinburne Vietnam have signed a Memorandum of Understanding and opened the Qualcomm x Arduino Innovation Lab in Hà Nội in a move aimed at strengthening hands-on technology education and innovation.

The first Arduino lab in Southeast Asia will allow students and researchers to access and experiment with new technologies and develop projects in areas including the Internet of Things (IoT), embedded systems, artificial intelligence of things (AIoT), robotics and smart automation.

Developed with support from Qualcomm and Arduino, the lab is designed to combine academic learning with access to technology platforms, tools and resources more closely aligned with industry needs.

Technology group FPT is also involved in the initiative to help strengthen links between academic environment and businesses through practical expertise and insights into emerging technology challenges and their commercial applications.

The lab will support the technology development process from idea generation and prototyping to testing and refinement, where students can apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges while gaining a better understanding of how innovative ideas can be turned into useful solutions.

Hoàng Việt Hà, director of Swinburne Vietnam under FPT Corporation, said the cooperation was intended to help connect education with research, innovation and technology solution development.

The lab aims to align its training programmes more closely with the practical needs of businesses so that graduates leave not only with solid professional knowledge but also with adaptability, collaboration skills and the ability to work in a rapidly changing technology environment. — BIZHUB
