HCM CITY — Phú Nhuận Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ) has become the sole Vietnamese enterprise recognised at the Jewellery World Awards (JWA) 2025, winning the “Sustainability Leadership” category for its outstanding sustainable development strategies at a ceremony on September 17 in Hong Kong, China.

According to the organisers, PNJ is among the few businesses that have set a “gold standard” in developing, implementing and governing sustainability strategies. Its recognition in the “Sustainability Leadership” category highlights the management team’s strong commitment to integrating ESG principles into the company’s overall development framework, thereby creating substantial value for stakeholders.

The award was assessed against comprehensive criteria, with a particular focus on leadership capability, including visionary leadership, innovation and adaptability, and a clear sustainability roadmap.

At the ceremony, the organising committee emphasised that PNJ excelled across all criteria with a progressive vision and comprehensive ESG implementation and governance across three pillars: Environmental (E), Social (S) and Governance (G). This has become a core competitive advantage, enabling PNJ to navigate market volatility and achieve long-term growth.

Trần Phương Ngọc Thảo, vice chairwoman of PNJ’s Board of Directors, said: “Our steadfast commitment to ESG pillars provides a solid foundation, enabling us to maintain stable growth rates, enhance our attractiveness in the capital markets, and create positive value for shareholders, employees and the wider community.”

PNJ is currently Việt Nam’s leading jewellery and lifestyle retailer, with more than 428 stores nationwide and nearly 9,000 employees.

In 2024, PNJ achieved record-breaking revenue of over VNĐ37.8 trillion (US$1.4 billion) and net profit after tax of VNĐ2.1 trillion ($79.6 million). Revenue and profit in the first half of this year continued their positive momentum despite challenging market conditions, reaching 55.1 per cent and 57.1 per cent of the full-year targets, respectively.

Recently, Brand Finance valued PNJ’s brand at $523 million, up nearly 9 per cent year-on-year, ranking it ninth in Việt Nam’s Top 10 Strongest Brands. — VNS
