NSPR has reached 30 million safe man-hours without a lost-time injury, highlighting its sustained focus on workplace safety and operational reliability.
THANH HÓA — Nghi Sơn Refinery and Petrochemical LLC (NSRP) has recorded 30 million safe man-hours without a lost-time injury (LTI), marking nearly five years of injury-free operations at the Nghi Sơn Refinery.
The milestone was achieved during the period from November 10, 2021 to August 30, 2026.
NSRP said maintaining an LTI-free record in a complex refinery and petrochemical environment requires continuous risk monitoring, operational discipline and close coordination among different teams.
The refinery has maintained safe and stable operations during the period, contributing to Việt Nam’s domestic energy supply.
According to NSRP, its safety performance is supported by leadership commitment, workforce engagement, contractor safety management, process safety practices, asset integrity and emergency preparedness.
Kazutaka Yamato, general director of NSRP, said the 30-million-hour milestone was a collective achievement of employees and contractors across the refinery.
The company will use the milestone as a foundation to further strengthen its safety management system, process safety and risk management, while improving workforce capabilities, he said.
NSRP plans to continue its safety programme towards further milestones of 50 million and 100 million safe man-hours.
Established in 2008, NSRP is a joint venture between Vietnam National Industry–Energy Group (Petrovietnam), Idemitsu Kosan, Kuwait Petroleum Europe B.V. and Mitsui Chemicals.
Located in the Nghi Sơn Economic Zone in Thanh Hóa Province, the refinery has a designed crude oil processing capacity of 200,000 barrels per day, equivalent to 10 million tonnes annually. — BIZHUB
