Nestle’s Breakfast Cereals brand and American film studio Warner Bros have launched a DC Comics programme in Viet Nam for children this summer to encourage them to lead a healthy lifestyle.
To run from May until the end of July, it features a number of activities at some major supermarkets in HCM City and Ha Noi for children to play with “superheroes.”
It uses augmented reality technology that combines virtual images of superheroes and children to bring a new and interesting experience to the children.
When buying Nestle cereal products, under the programme, consumers receive gifts and 2D cinema tickets for watching any movie produced by Warner Bros and DC Entertainment (including The Flash) or a popcorn-drink set at CGV and LOTTE Cinema.
A study by the US-based Cornell University Food and Brand Lab found that children tend to do follow their favourite superheroes, who can persuade them to adopt healthy eating habits. — VNS
