The five-day event celebrates the nation's artisan heritage while creating new business opportunities for rural producers.
HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội will host the 21st Vietnam Craft Village Fair from October 9 to 13 at the Economic and Commercial Fair area on Hoang Quoc Viet Street.
The five-day event celebrates the nation's artisan heritage while creating new business opportunities for rural producers.
Over 100 exhibitors will showcase traditional Vietnamese craftsmanship, from lacquerware and ceramics to bamboo weavings and wood carvings. The fair emphasises hands-on experiences, allowing visitors to watch artisans demonstrate their techniques and understand the intricate processes behind each product.
A major highlight is the expanded OCOP (One Commune One Product) area, featuring three-star-rated items and regional specialties. This government-backed program helps villages develop signature products for wider markets, combining traditional skills with modern business practices.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's Centre for Agricultural Trade Promotion (Agritrade) organises the fair to connect craftspeople with distributors, supermarkets and international buyers. Business seminars will address e-commerce strategies and export expansion in today's global marketplace.
According to Agritrade’s Director Nguyễn Minh Tiến, the fair has become "a familiar meeting point" for Việt Nam's craft sector after 20 years. He expects hundreds of booths showcasing traditional crafts – from ceramics and lacquerware to textiles and wood carvings – alongside OCOP products, help elevate Vietnamese brands in domestic and international markets.
The event coincides with the 80th anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment sector and Hà Nội's 71st Liberation Day anniversary, adding cultural significance to the commercial activities. — BIZHUB
