HÀ NỘI — FPT Corporation has released a global study highlighting the growing need for enterprises to move beyond artificial intelligence (AI) pilot projects and adopt platform-driven strategies to scale AI across their operations.

The report, From Pilots to Reusable Platforms: A Blueprint for Scaling Enterprise AI, was commissioned by FPT and conducted by Forrester Consulting. Published on July 8, it examines how organisations worldwide are progressing in AI adoption and the barriers preventing many from achieving enterprise-wide transformation.

The study is based on a survey of 397 business and technology decision-makers, complemented by interviews with senior executives across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Japan in industries including automotive, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, energy and sports.

According to the report, AI investment continues to rise, with 51 per cent of organisations allocating at least 5 per cent of their IT budgets to AI. However, only 26 per cent consider themselves advanced in operationalising the technology.

While most companies are using AI to improve efficiency through automation and cost reduction, only 34 per cent have adopted an AI-first operating model, indicating that enterprise-wide transformation remains at an early stage.

The research identifies integration complexity (41 per cent) and data silos (38 per cent) as the biggest obstacles to scaling AI, particularly in data-intensive industries. It also found that only 39 per cent of organisations have made significant progress in aligning AI strategy, governance and operating models.

Measuring AI performance also remains a challenge. Around 35 per cent of organisations do not collect quantified performance metrics, while 10 per cent do not measure AI outcomes at all, making it difficult to determine which projects should be expanded across the business.

As enterprises seek to scale AI, they are increasingly looking for technology partners capable of delivering end-to-end support. Nearly half of respondents said they prioritise partners with expertise in developing, deploying and operating AI systems throughout their lifecycle, alongside strong governance, security and system integration capabilities.

Regional trends vary, with demand for full lifecycle AI capabilities strongest in North America and Europe, while organisations in Asia-Pacific and Japan place greater emphasis on strategic guidance combined with implementation support.
