HÀ NỘI Ford Vietnam, the first and only American investor in the automotive industry in Việt Nam, has marked its 30th anniversary of presence and growth in the market by launching a new global social responsibility initiative titled Building Together.
Việt Nam is the first market outside North America to implement this global initiative, a collaborative programme between Ford Philanthropy, Ford, and its dealership network, designed to support local communities. The initiative also encourages participation from Ford owner clubs, nonprofit organisations, and volunteers to contribute meaningful and sustainable impact to society.
“In Việt Nam, we will partner with AIP Foundation, a community organisation active since 1999, to implement safety education programmes and support communities in enhancing disaster preparedness and response capabilities. We will also provide scholarships through the Ford Automotive Technician Programme, training the next generation of skilled technicians,” said Mary Culler, President of Ford Philanthropy.
As part of the initiative, Ford is also launching the Ford Volunteer Hub – a platform where Ford Vietnam employees can discover and register for volunteer activities, fostering a spirit of giving and community engagement.
During the celebration ceremony held in Hà Nội on Friday, Ford Vietnam also unveiled a new version of the Ford Territory and introduced its first all-electric vehicle in Việt Nam – the Mustang Mach-E.
Over the past three decades, Ford Vietnam has invested more than US$200 million, establishing itself as the only and largest American foreign direct investor (FDI) in the country’s automotive industry. This substantial investment not only underscores Ford’s long-term commitment to Việt Nam but also strengthens the close economic partnership between Việt Nam and the United States in the automotive sector.
“The 30-year milestone is a testament to Ford’s enduring journey in Việt Nam, and a springboard for us to move forward with even greater momentum. We will continue to drive innovation, enhance customer experiences, and contribute positively to Việt Nam’s socio-economic development.
“Passion will always be the driving force behind all our efforts – from breakthrough product and service development to meaningful community initiatives,” said Ruchik Shah, General Director of Ford Vietnam. VNS
