The new office further strengthens Ericsson’s local presence and commitment to supporting Việt Nam’s digitalisation ambitions.

HÀ NỘI — Ericsson has officially opened its new office in Hà Nội, marking a key milestone in its 32-year journey in Việt Nam and underscoring its commitment to accelerating the country’s digital ambitions.
The move further strengthens Ericsson’s local presence as it partners with Vietnamese operators and Government stakeholders to support the national push for digital transformation and sustainable growth.
“The opening of our new office in Hà Nội demonstrates Ericsson’s long-term commitment to Việt Nam," said President of Ericsson Việt Nam Rita Mokbel.
"Together with our partners, we helped lay the foundation for 2G, then moved step by step through 3G and 4G. And today, we are proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with Viettel, VNPT and Mobifone as we bring 5G to life in Việt Nam."
The new office is the first in Ericsson Việt Nam equipped with EVCN (Enterprise Virtual Cellular Network), a solution developed by Ericsson that enables enterprises to manage and control 5G connectivity for mobile devices — particularly 5G-enabled laptops — or for IT applications in the office, replacing traditional wi-fi.
Việt Nam has set an ambitious goal for its digital economy to contribute up to 30 per cent of GDP by 2030, with 5G recognised as critical national infrastructure. Ericsson’s expanded presence aims to deepen collaboration with the Government, operators, enterprises and academia in key sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare and smart cities.
“During the 5G licensing process, Ericsson once again proved a trusted partner for Việt Nam, working closely with regulators and sharing global experience on issues such as standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) deployment. This cooperation reflects a strong partnership built on trust, professionalism and shared commitment," said Deputy Director of the Department of Telecommunications under the Ministry of Science and Technology Nguyễn Phong Nhã.
As part of the inauguration, Ericsson is showcasing several cutting-edge technology demonstrations that highlight the potential of 5G and advanced connectivity.
These demos reflect Ericsson’s vision of enabling limitless connectivity and creating real-world applications that benefit consumers, enterprises and society.
The new Hà Nội office also reinforces Ericsson’s role in nurturing Việt Nam’s innovation ecosystem. Through initiatives such as Ericsson Educate with PTIT, the AI Lab with RMIT and an MoU with the University of Transport and Communications, Ericsson continues to invest in local talent development, research and co-creation with academia. — VNS
