ĐÀ NẴNG — Intelligent power management company Eaton has partnered with Habitat for Humanity in Việt Nam to build disaster-resilient homes for vulnerable families in Đà Nẵng's Quế Sơn and Quế Sơn Trung communes.

Part of the company’s Vietnam Special Build 2026 campaign, the programme marks the first Special Build in the Asia-Pacific region since 2019.

The initiative is funded through Eaton’s Corporate Donation Programme and aims to improve housing safety and climate resilience for vulnerable families in central Việt Nam.

Located in a region frequently affected by storms and flooding, Quế Sơn and Quế Sơn Trung communes continue to face housing challenges, with many families living in unsafe or temporary shelters. 

The area holds strategic and cultural importance, situated near four major cultural and tourism centres – Huế, Đà Nẵng, Hội An and Mỹ Sơn – three of which (Huế, Hội An and Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary) are UNESCO-recognised cultural heritage sites.

Despite this heritage and the area's scenic value, the local population remains highly vulnerable to recurrent and intensifying climate hazards, including seasonal flooding, destructive typhoons and escalating heat extremes that compromise housing integrity and community resilience.

The campaign brings people together to build homes, communities and hope, creating a meaningful opportunity for diverse stakeholders to join hands in addressing the urgent need for safe, affordable housing for vulnerable families.

Through the project, Eaton employee volunteers are working alongside Habitat Vietnam, international volunteers and local residents to build and hand over nine disaster-resilient homes. They are also supporting 16 low-income and vulnerable households and engaging dozens of employee volunteers in hands-on community service.

The project marks the first Habitat for Humanity volunteer home-building initiative involving Eaton employees in Việt Nam, extending Eaton’s longstanding global partnership with Habitat for Humanity to local communities.

It also coincides with Habitat for Humanity Vietnam's 25th anniversary.

Through initiatives such as Vietnam Special Build 2026, Eaton continues to support more resilient, sustainable communities while encouraging employee volunteerism and local engagement worldwide. — BIZHUB
