ĐÀ NẴNG – Domestic property developer Sun Group has officially begun construction on Danang Downtown, a premium entertainment and culture park destined to become a new landmark for the coastal city.

Spanning nearly 77 hectares, the project represents an investment of nearly VNĐ80 trillion (US$3.2 billion).

This marks the largest entertainment investment by a private group in the newly expanded Đà Nẵng City, following its merger with Quảng Nam Province.

According to Sun Group, the development will include a cultural entertainment park, a theatre, shophouse buildings, township houses, a riverside eco-park, luxury trade service centres and a 69-storey sky-rise tower – the tallest in central Việt Nam and the second tallest nationwide.

Vice Chairman of the city’s People’s Committee Hồ Kỳ Minh believes Danang Downtown would help boost the city’s tourism industry, while set up a new brand for the new city in the most expected rising era.

“The introduction of the project would bring a competitive strength for the city’s economic growth as a key power in central Việt Nam. It will add a new regional luxury entertainment centre in creating more tourism experience for visitors and an attraction of the city,” Minh said.

Minh added that the project is one of a series of key investment activities nationwide in celebration of the country’s National Day (September 2).

Đà Nẵng welcomed 10.7 million tourists in the first seven months of this year, including 4.2 million international visitors, making the target of 17 million arrivals in 2025 achievable.

Sun Group stated it has been investing in a series of key tourism, entertainment and urban development projects as part of a 20-year revitalisation plan for Đà Nẵng.

Bà Nà Hills resort, Asia Park and the Đà Nẵng International Fireworks Festival have become some of the city’s most popular attractions, hosting world-class events and shows over the past decades. — BIZHUB
