ĐÀ NẴNG – The central city has approved an investment adjustment for the Golden Hills City project by Trung Nam Group from VNĐ4.4 trillion (US$176 million) to VNĐ15.5 trillion ($620 million) in the second phase of investment during the 2026-34 period.
The city said the initial investment phase of the urban project had been built from 2010 to 2025 at a cost of VNĐ5.88 trillion, 38 per cent of total investment capital, and the group had already contributed VNĐ1 trillion to the State budget.
It said the second phase would start in August as part of the city’s double-digit economic growth target.
Trung Nam Group said in a statement that the area, which covers more than 3.3 million square metres in Hải Vân and Liên Chiểu wards, had been designed as an eco-urban area for 29,000-population in the Northwest region of the city.
At least six high-rise apartments would be built in the second phase, providing more than 4,000 apartments along with schools, hospitals, supermarkets and traffic infrastructure.
The area is easily connected with the newly established Free Trade Zone, on-going construction of the deep-sea Liên Chiểu Port, Đà Nẵng Hi-tech Park and the Đà Nẵng Information Technology Park.
Trung Nam Group also started construction of surface-mount technology (SMT) factories at the IT Park’s ICT Service Zone to host the moves of global supply chains in high-tech industries, artificial intelligence (AI) and automation.
The group had invested on 131ha at Đà Nẵng IT Park to turn it into the first 'Silicon Valley’ in central Việt Nam.
According to the city’s Statistics Agency, Đà Nẵng had issued 47 new investment licences including increasing investment capital projects to domestic businesses worth VNĐ74.8 trillion (nearly US$3 billion), and 66 foreign direct investment projects with an investment of $283.5 million in the first six months of 2026.
Đà Nẵng achieved a 9.52 per cent growth in the first half of 2026, making 2.57 per cent of the country’s GDP.
The city has been accelerating the operation of the Free Trade Zone and the Việt Nam International Finance Centre in Đà Nẵng City. VNS
