HCM CITY — Co.opmart, the supermarket chain operated by the HCM City Union of Trading Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op), has been recognised as a Vietnam National Brand in 2026, marking a milestone in its 30-year development and adding to Saigon Co.op’s string of accolades this year.
The 2026 selection marks the 10th edition of the Vietnam National Brand (Vietnam Value) programme, a government trade promotion initiative led by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Products and brands are assessed against three core values: quality, innovation and creativity, and pioneering capacity, with the aim of strengthening business competitiveness and promoting Vietnamese brands at home and abroad.
Held on October 16 in Hà Nội under the theme “The Flow of Vietnamese Brands”, the announcement ceremony brought together around 1,500 delegates and guests. A total of 499 products from 227 enterprises were recognised this year for their efforts to improve quality, foster innovation and pursue sustainable development.
The recognition adds to a series of awards received by Saigon Co.op in 2026. On October 13, it was named an Outstanding HCM City Enterprise 2026 and received the HCM City Golden Brand 2026 title in recognition of its business performance, brand development and socio-economic contributions.
Saigon Co.op also won two awards at the Retail Asia Awards 2026 in Singapore: Domestic Retailer of the Year – Vietnam and Private Label Brand of the Year – Vietnam.
The accolades reflect the cooperative’s efforts to modernise its retail operations, expand private-label products and improve customer service while strengthening links between domestic producers and consumers.
To mark Co.opmart’s national brand recognition and 30th anniversary, Saigon Co.op has launched a customer appreciation programme. From October 16 to 18, members shopping at Co.opmart, Co.opmart Pro, Co.opXtra and Co.op Online who spend at least VNĐ500,000 on a single bill receive 150 reward points.
Looking ahead, Saigon Co.op remains committed to improving service quality and developing a modern, sustainable retail ecosystem. Alongside its business development efforts, it will continue promoting greener lifestyles, accelerating environmentally friendly solutions and supporting social welfare activities.
As a link between domestic producers and consumers, the cooperative also aims to promote Vietnamese goods and help domestic products reach more households nationwide. — BIZHUB
