LÀO CAI — Linh Linh Industrial Joint Stock Company yesterday broke ground on two industrial parks in Gia Phú Commune, Lào Cai Province.

Phú Xuân Industrial Park (IP) and Phú Xuân 1 Industrial Park cover a combined 500ha and have total investment of nearly VNĐ5.5 trillion (US$208.3 million), including 300ha in Phú Xuân IP with investment of about VNĐ3.3 trillion, and 200ha in Phú Xuân 1 with capital of around VNĐ2.2 trillion.

Under the approved schedule, investment preparations and completion of procedures will take place in 2026. Technical infrastructure is expected to be built from the first to fourth quarters of 2027, with operations scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2028.

The two IPs will provide serviced industrial land with integrated infrastructure, targeting high-tech, supporting industries, mechanical engineering and manufacturing, deep processing and logistics projects.

The projects will benefit from connections to the IC17 interchange, Tằng Loỏng Industrial Park, the Lào Cai-Hà Nội-Hải Phòng Railway and other major transport routes, facilitating the movement of goods.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Lào Cai Provincial People's Committee Vice Chairman Phan Trung Bá said the projects marked an important milestone in expanding the province's industrial development space, attracting investment and creating new drivers of growth.

Provincial authorities asked the investor to ensure progress, quality and workplace safety, as well as fire prevention and environmental protection. The industrial parks should be developed in a green, modern and integrated manner, without attracting projects that pose pollution risks or use outdated technology, they said.

The provincial Economic Zone Management Board and relevant departments were instructed to proactively resolve difficulties and ensure that procedures under the responsibility of state agencies do not delay the projects.

Gia Phú Commune was asked to coordinate on compensation, support and resettlement, as well as vocational training, job transitions and livelihood stabilisation for affected residents.

According to the investor, the two industrial parks are expected to create jobs for thousands of workers while helping attract investment, develop supporting industries and logistics, and increase local budget revenues. VNS
