HÀ NỘI — Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam has launched a training project to support women at Vĩnh Thịnh conical hat craft village in Hà Nội with e-commerce for its traditional hat products.
The project is part of the company’s community development programme in Hà Nội, running from June to August in two main phases.
It aims to combine the preservation of traditional cultural values with the application of e-commerce, creating economic opportunities for local women while preserving Vietnamese cultural heritage.
This will provide 20 selected young individuals and artisans the opportunity to take part in a six-week training programme, guided by experts from the Vietnam E-commerce Association and Vietnam National University, Hà Nội.
Through the project, participants will be provided with knowledge of e-commerce, digital marketing, livestream sales and AI applications in content creation, while also receiving support to enhance the aesthetic value and commercial potential of traditional conical hat products.
This includes funded training and an acrylic paint set for each participating artisan.
It also supports locals with the operation of the craft village's Facebook platform page called Làng Nghề Nón Lá Vĩnh Thịnh, promoting its traditional hat products and stories.
Phạm Thị Bích Thủy, chairwoman of the Ngọc Hồi Commune Women's Union, said the project creates opportunities for local residents to participate more deeply in the digital economic development process, offering them new knowledge and skills in e-commerce. — VNS
