TÂY NINH — Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam officially inaugurated a US$136 million manufacturing plant at Phú An Thạnh Industrial Park in Bến Lức Commune, Tây Ninh Province on Friday.

The facility is the first food and beverage plant in Việt Nam to achieve LEED Gold Green Building Certification, marking a significant step in Coca-Cola’s sustainability journey.

Covering 19 hectares, the Tây Ninh plant is the largest among the company’s three modern production sites. It features five advanced filling and bottling lines and is equipped with cutting-edge technologies to enhance production efficiency and more sustainable design features, such as energy- efficient lighting, optimised space cooling, and advanced heat rejection systems.

It also utilises renewable energy, including a 6MW rooftop solar system and a 10-tonne biomass boiler, reducing reliance on energy derived from fossil fuels.

To manage water use effectively, the plant has implemented a system that recovers and reuses up to 89 per cent of the water used in production, helping minimise freshwater usage.

Additionally, the site adopts a 'Wall-to-Wall' supply model, a strategic collaboration between Coca-Cola and Baosteel to supply can packaging. This model helps optimise logistics operations and conserves energy used in transportation.

Speaking at the event, Milly Cheng, CEO of Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam, said: “This state-of-the-art facility is designed to be a hub where innovation meets sustainability — a testament to our belief in the immense growth potential of this market and our long-term commitment to its future. More than just an investment in infrastructure, it reflects our dedication to sustainable development and our aspiration to make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve across the country.”

Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyễn Đức Tâm noted that the event holds important implications for the domestic food and beverage industry, contributing to socio-economic growth and improving Tây Ninh’s investment environment.

“Coca-Cola’s strategic decision to invest in Tây Ninh—a province with a strategic location and a thriving industrial sector—with its most modern and largest beverage factory in Việt Nam, not only continues its success story in the country but also stands as a powerful symbol of Việt Nam’s deep integration with the global economy and its attractiveness to international investors in this new phase of development.” he said.

Nguyễn Văn Út, chairman of Tây Ninh Province People's Committee, also expressed his optimism that the opening of Coca-Cola’s new plant marked a significant milestone in the company’s expansion strategy in Việt Nam.

"It powerfully reflects the strong confidence of the international business community, including investors from the US and the UK, in Tây Ninh Province’s friendly, transparent, and dynamic investment environment." — VNS
