HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese technology group CMC Corporation has announced plans to accelerate its artificial intelligence (AI) transformation and expand overseas operations in 2026, setting its sights on becoming a billion-dollar global technology company within the next five years.

Building on what it described as solid results in fiscal year 2025, the company said it will scale up its AI, cloud computing and cybersecurity capabilities under its AI-X strategy, focusing on strengthening data and computing infrastructure.

Two major data centre projects form the backbone of that strategy. In Hà Nội, CMC Creative Space Hanoi is designed to serve as a hub for research and development, data, human resources and ecosystem partners, integrating laboratories, testing facilities and solution development.

In HCM City, the group plans to begin construction in 2026 of a hyperscale data centre built to international standards and aligned with a green data centre model. The facility is expected to support large-scale cloud and AI services requiring high computing power, substantial storage capacity and stable connectivity.

CMC said hyperscale infrastructure would enable Việt Nam to participate more deeply in the global digital value chain, as data and computing capacity become increasingly strategic economic resources.

The group employs around 6,000 staff and operates in 30 countries, with representative offices in more than 10. It has established companies in Malaysia and the United States.

In fiscal year 2025, ending March 31, 2026, the company reported revenue growth of about 20 per cent year on year, while EBITDA rose 22 per cent compared with fiscal 2024, providing a financial foundation for its AI development and international expansion plans. — VNS
