BÀ RỊA – VŨNG TÀU — More than 200 volunteers from Carlsberg Vietnam, including staff and their families, joined forces in a coastal cleanup in Phước Tĩnh Commune on Sunday, collecting over three tonnes of waste along the shoreline.

The event, held in celebration of World Environment Day 2025 and supported by the Embassy of Denmark, reflects the brewer’s long-term sustainability commitment under its Together Towards ZERO and Beyond strategy, which includes reaching net-zero emissions in beer production by 2028.

“Sustainability lives in everyday actions. Whether its reducing water use inside the brewery or joining hands with our communities on the beach, every action matters,” said the Managing Director of Carlsberg Vietnam, Andrew Khan.

The Danish Ambassador to Việt Nam said: “What impressed me most wasn’t just the amount of trash collected, but the spirit behind it. Environmental progress happens when people of all backgrounds unite with purpose. It was inspiring to join this effort – not as an ambassador, but as a fellow citizen of our shared planet.”

Carlsberg Vietnam has emerged as a leader in responsible water management, having cut water use by over 30 per cent since 2019. Its Phú Bài Brewery is one of Carlsberg Group’s most water-efficient facilities. Beyond operations, the company has also delivered clean water to over 35,000 people through its long-running 'Fresh Water for Beloved Central' programme.

All waste from the cleanup was sorted and handed over to local recycling partners, promoting circular practices at the community level.

As part of Việt Nam’s broader green transition, Carlsberg Vietnam continues to align its production, processes and partnerships toward a more sustainable future — brewing not just beer, but positive change. — VNS
