AWS commits more than US$500 million to student cloud and AI training

The initiative represents a commitment of more than US$500 million in resources to support university students globally with the training, tools and certification they need to start building careers in cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI).

HÀ NỘI — Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon.com company, on Tuesday announced the launch of Student Rewards on AWS Builder Centre.

This new programme gives verified higher education students access to earn AWS credits, 12 months of premium AWS Skill Builder and an AWS Certification Foundational exam voucher as they learn, build and connect within the developer community.

The initiative represents a commitment of more than US$500 million to support university students globally by providing the training, tools and certification needed to start building careers in cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI).

Upon enrollment verification, students aged 18 or older gain immediate access to 12 months of AWS Skill Builder Premium – a comprehensive learning platform featuring more than 900 courses, hands-on labs, certification exam prep and game-based learning.

Additional rewards are unlocked as students progress through the programme, with milestones tied to community engagement such as publishing articles and contributing to discussions.

In total, each student stands to receive up to $579 in resources – comprising $30 in AWS credits, a $100 AWS Certification exam voucher, and 12 months of premium AWS Skill Builder access valued at $449.

AWS’s commitment to skills development in Việt Nam

The launch of Student Rewards reinforces AWS's long-standing commitment to developing cloud and AI talent in Việt Nam and across Southeast Asia. Since 2017, AWS has trained more than 157,000 individuals in Việt Nam in cloud computing and AI skills through a range of programmes spanning enterprises, universities and communities.

With Student Rewards, Vietnamese university students now have an additional pathway to gain hands-on cloud experience, build in-demand AI and cloud skills, and – through the included certification exam voucher – earn an industry-recognised AWS Certification that is valued by employers worldwide. — BIZHUB
